Summer Beach Essentials

I think it's finally safe to say, summer has arrived! Our family has many camping trips, beach trips, and outdoor adventures planned throughout the summer before baby boy comes in August... Eeeeeekkkk! We have already been to the beach (and by beach, I mean the small area of sand in front of our lake in the mountains here in Utah... but ill take it) a few times and it has become our new favorite thing to do in our free time. Ellie likes to build sandcastles and ride our giant floating unicorn, while I lay in the sun and watch my sweet girl giggle with so much happiness. Ahhh, isn't motherhood simply the best? The answer is YES. Well, here it is, we're bringing you our favorite summer essentials to take to the beach!

The top of my list for must-haves is most definitely summer dresses (especially when its 90 degrees and your 8 months pregnant, there’s truly nothing better). If I’m planning on getting wet, I always wear a flowy dress over my swimsuit that is easy to slip on and off, and that is also lightweight so it will dry quick! Another item that is inexpensive and comes in handy for so many things is a beach towel! I always take a couple of them with me to use as a towel (duh), or as a swim wrap. Oh, and they make for really cute pictures!

You know one of those things you don’t have, and as soon as you get it you don’t know how you lived without it? For me, it was this travel bag. I swear I could have 10 of them and find 10 different reasons to use each of them. At the beach they are perfect to store your sunscreens, aloe, bug spray, tanning lotion, and any other first-aid creams. I’m sure we have all been there when a lotion explodes or leaks in our bags and ruins something, right? These bags have a drawstring on the top for quick and easy access, and tons of pockets in the middle for organization. (Some of the other reasons I have found to use them is for snacks, traveling, and storing my makeup.) I’m telling you, you need one (or a few) of these!

Let’s talk dresses again, because they are truly a summer staple. I was obsessed with Ellie’s dress because it had the cutest fringe detail around the neck, and it was under $15! It’s also a light material so it’s perfect for those hot summer days.

If you’re not planning on getting in the water, but still want to look cute, you can go for a lightweight Fit N Flare Contrast dress to keep you cool during the day, but still be stylish. Oh, and if your pregnant it’s the perfect dress for your growing belly. Speaking of pregnancy, I can’t believe I’m already 33 weeks! I’m sure going to miss this belly but I can’t wait to meet our little guy!
